The Story :

 

 

Lemongrass is a large herb native to India that grows in tuft, with narrow, upright leaves. It can reach 2 meters high and its stems have small pink pale/white flowers at the ends. It is a kind of fragrant rush whose Winterianus variety (from Java) is of superior quality.

It sometimes has other names, such as “Indian verbena” or “lemon grass”. It is traditionally consumed as a herbal tea in many countries where it grows spontaneously, and is present in several Southeast Asian cuisines. It is used in particular to promote digestion and against various feverish diseases, and is sometimes mixed with mint tea in Morocco.

It has various virtues, including the ability to repel insects, which is widely used in tropical countries and the West Indies. It is also purifying, purifying and anti-inflammatory, and therefore very beneficial for joint problems.

Uses :

 

In infusion: For its digestive properties, but also purifying and detoxifying

To do this, mix 3 to 4 drops of citronella essential oil in a litre of warm, non-boiling water. Indeed, water that is too hot tends to evaporate the essential oil too quickly and could also degrade the essential oil and its components, making it less effective. It is important to dilute the essential oil in honey or on a sugar cube which you will then add in warm water, in order to unify the mixture. Once your preparation is done, you can enjoy your tea for a moment of relaxation, at any time of the day.

Atmospheric diffusion: To purify and purify the atmosphere of your home, but also to create a floral atmosphere and thus perfume a room.  

Depending on the diffusers and the size of the room, pour between 5 and 30 drops, and allow 30 minutes for a large room and about 15 minutes for a bedroom. In all cases, comply with the instructions for the device used.

In cosmetics: In particular, it is used to treat damaged or problem skin and, in addition, to regenerate and restore their radiance. It also keeps insects away.

Java Lemongrass essential oil is used very diluted in a rich vegetable oil to provide a soothing and regenerating massage. Pour 4 drops of essential oil for 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil of your choice and massage gently into the area concerned.

Tips :

 

 

To keep insects away: 5 drops of Lemongrass, 5 drops of Fragrant Geranium and 10 drops of Lemon, to diffuse 5 to 10 minutes / hour in a room.

 

Caution: Not recommended for the first 3 months of pregnancy and pure use for sensitive skin (dilute 5 to 10% in vegetable oil).
